How to find the physical location of a disk.

Subject:

The "storcli" command can show the actual slot for a disk and will correlate to the slot represented in the Quantastor "Hardware Enclosures" window .

The "lshw" command (lshw -class disk)  will give additional detail about the disk but will not show the slot location of a drive.

Detail:

You can locate the drive slot using the Quantastor GUI by going to the "Hardware Enclosure & Controllers"  section of the GUI.

To find the slot location of a disk using a command line utility you can use the "storcli" command and specify the controller number.

Example for controller Zero:

# storcli /c0 /eall /sall show
Controller = 0
Status = Success
Description = Show Drive Information Succeeded.
